Just a NYSATE Minute… (from the latest edition of News 4 You) Last Updated October 4, 2008
Just a minute? Who has a minute these days for anything? Seems like we are always busy and getting busier. The hours of the day fly by with usually more work piling up than we had the day before. It's a rare day when we can stop at the end and say 'wow I got caught up", even if you do, the next day 40 new emails load into your box and your right back where you started from. Of course you finally get through all of those and then you have to go do the same thing at work. Our lives are busy both home and work, the days and years fly by faster and faster. Ever sit at your desk late in the afternoon and start to think, I'm going home soon and I have no meetings, nothing to do, it's a nice day. Then you start to plan: I'll take a nice walk, wash the dog, read a book, maybe watch a TV show I DVR'd three weeks ago and you can't wait to go home. Then boom, your spouse needs you go to go the store, your kid begs you to play with him, your other kid has a life crisis, you have no clothes for the next day, making dinner takes hours longer than you thought, the sun goes down and its time for bed, oh well. Shelve the "fun" list for another day.
But of course there will be another day, and another time to do something you want to do, to get that project done for your boss, to help a co-worker with a question, to wash the dog, to read that 6 month old Time magazine and to maybe even watch the sun set. It will all get done one way or another, and even if it didn't, you have another day…
What is the point of all of this? Put a NYSATE Minute at the top of every day and life will look really good!.
