NYSATE Section 4 - News

Just a NYSATE Minute… (from the latest edition of News 4 You) Last Updated May 21, 2008

It is hard to believe I have just begun my second term as President. Elections were held last November and our new Executive Committee is bounding with energy ready to go to work. On a personal note I thank every member for their support and hard work. It is you that keep NYSATE fresh.

Congratulations and thank you to the new Officers and Executive Committee Members:

Eric Thompson (Statewide Director)
Jay Reisinger (Vice President)
Scott Robinson (Recording Secretary)
Ed Gregor (Financial Secretary)
Zac Cracknell Member At-Large
Craig Ekstrom Member At-Large (1 year term)
Mary Ellen Papin (Special Events)
Chris Sheridan (Education)
Frank DiCostanzo (Finance)
Sue Turan (Publicity)

My first two years have been very exciting and rewarding, much has been accomplished. The Executive Committee is a fantastic group of individuals with a sincere dedication to NYSATE and the principles of this organization. They care about the many wonderful things NYSATE does, the work we do as NYSDOT employees, and they care about you, the members. I am confident that the new Executive Committee table will continue to represent this organization competently and professionally for the year to come.

Thanks to all who made our two biggest events last year successful. The Mini-Conference went off without a hitch and was our best attended to date. My personal thanks to Dan Schwind and his committee: Mert Edwards, Paul Presutti, Chris Caraccilo, Barry Dumbauld, Lori Maher and, of course, all the subcommittee members.

Thanks to Tina Pratt and the volunteers who helped her with the Retiree's Luncheon. If she did not step up, we would not have had a retiree's lunch this year. The event is truly appreciated by our retirees, who get a chance to visit old friends, schmooze with their former employees (most of whom are still on the other side) and welcome those who will soon be joining their ranks (I will not mention any names, but you know who you are)!
